You may have even thought of it as a perfect location for a gala dinner, seminar or even a conference. It’s true that the Ljubljana castle provides a perfect atmosphere for an event, but let us tell you about another castle in Ljubljana where you can also organise a special event.

Fužine Castle, the only preserved Renaissance Castle in Ljubljana, is situated in a charming and peaceful location along the Ljubljanica river on the outskirts of the city. The spacious castle courtyard and the halls decorated with remnants of Renaissance paintings represent a unique environment for diverse, both business and social gatherings.

It got his name by ironworks or in Slovene “fužine” that surrounded it at the time. It was constructed between 1528 and 1557 by a merchants Veit Khisl and Hans Welhaimer. In the past the castle has changed several owners who have adapted it to their needs. It was a smelter of iron with a blacksmith’s workshop, later glassworks, a paper mill and even a part of a power plant. Since the 90’s, it has been thoroughly renovated. Today it houses the Museum of Architecture and Design.

Functional rooms are suitable for business meetings, receptions, promotional events, lectures, conferences, receptions, cultural events and more. While the beautiful court yard can be also used for concerts, gala dinner, award ceremonies and more. The two connecting halls can accommodate up 150 guests in a gala setting, while the spacious courtyard can guest up to 800 guests for a special evening under the stars.
