We agree that when our guests come to Slovenia the first time, they have to see the country’s top sights like Bled, Postojna cave, Piran and similar. They also have to see our capital, Ljubljana. But we want to offer you more than that. Original tours will show you our more alternative tours around Slovenia. Check the first one below.
Organic Estate at Ljubljana outskirts
In the past years, as we have become more and more aware of the importance of thoughtful handling of the environment, the tourism industry saw a rise of the so-called eco-tourism. Numerous local providers in rural, green locations topped their culinary offer and developed programmes for groups that allow you to enjoy some fresh air, relax, get to know each other better in an informal environment and bond.
After the visitors have explored the capital city through an interactive treasure hunt and learned about its culture, history and cuisine through an engaging culinary tour or even after having held a meeting in one of the comfortable conference halls in the city centre, only as much as 15 minutes' drive will get them to an ecological country estate.
A warm welcome including live music and a glass of local wine or organic homemade juice on the sunny terrace will immediately fill them with energy. Master of the estate will take them on a tour during which they will learn about the soil, grains and oil plants that grow there, stroll through a tree lane, meet a number of pets and domesticated animals - from cats and dogs to horses, ducks, goats, chickens, hens and donkeys ... And they will also see how cold-pressed organic oils are produced.
In a traditional brick-built house, they will then test and train their cooking skills in a culinary workshop. From the organically grown and produced ingredients and under the supervision of an experienced chef, they will cook a traditional Slovenian dish or two.
To round up the experience, the visitors will enjoy what they have cooked topped by some home produced cold cuts and a delicious desert.
Time flies when you're having fun - and so to make the experience last a bit longer they can return to the city life with a wooden boat, enjoying the views of Ljubljana from a different perspective.
